A buncha

From Ash Wednesday

I’m back at school today. Lucky me. Felt like crap when I got up. But now, I’m better. Still hoarse, still coughing. Getting lots of “Hey, [insert nickname]! You’re back! Yay!” which makes me feel special. I missed Mardi Gras to hack up a lung (lol) but it’s the first day of Lent and I’m giving up swearing. I’ve already kinda sworn a couple times but I’m working on it. Baby steps. Must copy a bunch of science notes. Yay for me. Oh, and lucky Lindsay gets to cut my bangs tonight.

2/17/05 <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

I feel like no one understands me or the fact that I can’t live with my father and remain sane. I need to get away. I don’t feel like if I got along with him that I’d be disloyal to my mom. I cannot get along with him. I cannot remain sane. I need to get someone other than Mom and Lindsay to understand me. My father is making me an appointment with a shrink so I can find out if I’m bipolar. Either Iker or O’Leary-Sergeant, my choice. I think I just need to see them. I can tell a lot about a person from their face. But I’m leaving strongly towards Iker. At first the Sergeant part turned me off that doctor. Then the O’Leary drew me in. Now I’m liking Iker. But I’ve gotta met ‘em.

2/21/05 <o:p></o:p>

I?m sitting here in the lock-in at 6 something in the morning. My head hurts, I?m tired, and I?ve never felt better. We?re playing Catchphrase. I love this game. With 20 sleep-deprived teens and a few equally sleep-deprived chaperones playing, we come up with some interesting clues and answers. I keep taking my retainer out because it hurts my head.

2/24/05<o:p></o:p>

Today is Thursday, the twenty-fourth of February and it?s twenty past two. I haven?t written anything in days and I don?t feel like doing so now. But I know I have to. I have to write about the lock-in, about my birthday, my weekend at Mom?s. I have to record it all but I don?t want to. I used to want to record everything so much so that I was missing out on life to blog it at times. Now, I don?t know. I?m just so messed up, so confused. I feel so? different. Different from my old self, different from my peers, just different.

That's it for now. Two or three looooooong entries coming soon. Much love!

Written on an unknown date

Changes this week:

    Caseworker

    Seat in science

    My clothes (haha duh)

Mood daily (ex. Depressed this morning, now happy)

    Handholding fiasco

    Mini-pimpette nickname

    Spirit week

    Snow is melting L

Nail polish is chipping (no big deal this time)

Views on modesty (my favorite Pants may be somewhat immodest)

    Less afraid

    Pope is sick L

    Lock-in plans going well

Dad?s going to drive for lock-in but we don?t need him to

Blech. Bleeech. Tiredness. Lack of energy. Depressed. That is me. Right now. Ugh. I?ve decided that I didn?t want to die when I last said it. I just didn?t want to deal anymore. Exactly as I feel now.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Stickers help a little. I have a bunch of stickers in my backpack and I was feeling depressed. Didn?t want to do my work so I got ?em out. Put one on my nose (didn?t stay), let Sarah M. take a couple, and put one on either cheek. So stickers make me smile. Smiling is good. My math teacher hit me. *Tries to pout and not giggle*

From Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine’s Day! I started off a pain in the butt because it was early and I stayed up too late and my stuff disappeared. I got ready and decided to take the whole I’m-single-but-I-don’t-care-that-it’s-Valentine’s-Day-and-I-can-still-look-good-for-myself approach. Which translates to my kick butt boots, awesome jeans, and black cami. Woohoo! I got to school in a better mood and that soon improved more. Just walking down the hallway in these shoes helps. Then I ran into Beena and chatted with her for a second. Sayid (Sara) is amazing. She asked, “You’re single, right?” Duh. “Here. This is for you.” A chocolate-peanut butter heart. On the back was a sticker that said, “Here’s to being single”. Yay! Hug Sayid and rush to locker. Got to class and there was a crush can for me from Lindsay. LOL I totally forgot to buy her one. I’d left my money at home.

I didn't finish this entry. I hardly remember what happened the rest of that day. Thus I won't be blogging about it.

Love always,
Vickey

About 2/12-ish

Writing in my science notebook with nothing real to write. I’m canceling my “trip” with Tom. I’m still going just not inviting him. Ice-skating would be easier without worrying about him. Plus I don’t think I like him anymore. Yea, he’s cute, funny, Christian, and opinionated but I just don’t like him, ya know? But I need a good Christian guy. I need a boyfriend. Maybe it’s because of the commercialism of the upcoming holiday. I watched Lucky 7 last night on ABC Family. Sweet movie but not what I should’ve watched when I was feeling lonely. Heck, I started thinking about asking Jake out. Which is probably not a good/wise/smart attracted to him and wanted to go out with him but, as we all know, when he did ask me out, I declined. I just want a good, funny, Christian, romantic boyfriend. I am nearly fifteen and a five year old has had more action than me! A FIVE YEAR OLD! I’m three times her age and I’ve had 0% of the “boyfriends” and “kisses” she has! Three times her age! But one thing that means is my first boyfriend, my first kiss, are going to be important, significant, memorable. The first guy that gets past the “dreaming” stage is going to be important. That guy is gonna be great. I hope.

Saturday, February 26, 2005

And it's actually Saturday! Woo, baby!

1. If a space colony could be built on the Moon or on Mars and humans could live there under protective domes, would you have any interest in living away from Earth? No thank you. I'm fine with Earth. But I might vacation on the Moon!

2. A commercial for a credit company starts with a man being denied for a loan because of his credit score (619) and then he encounters that same number in multiple places.  Is there a number that holds some significance for you that you encounter fairly often? Can't say that there is but Lindz encountered 23 all over the place this past Wednesday (the 23rd)

3. How many items are in your refrigerator door at this moment?  Of those, how many have you not touched in the last six months? I'm not even going to go count! I haven't touched quite a few in the past six months.

4. How often do you buy a movie without seeing it (either in a theater or through a movie rental)?  What was the last movie you purchased without having seen first?  Do you now think that if you'd seen it first, you wouldn't have purchased it? Not very often. The last movie I purchased without seeing it in it's entirity (sp?) was Se7en (seven) with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman. I bought it yesterday at the mall and still haven't seen it all the way through so I can't tell ya!

5. What was the last thing you purchased at an electronics store?  An office supply store?  A department store? Dunno, dunno, dunno. :o)

6. Do you expect to owe taxes this year or get a refund?  Will this year's debt or refund be greater or less than last year's?
I will not owe or get a refund. It will be the same as last year. I know because I don't pay taxes.

That's all. Time to go have a "life"... if I can remember what one is like! lol

Late Sunday Brunch

I'm down to 50 e-mails and that number can go down further when I realize that the weekend assignment and photo scavenger hunt must both be skipped for the second week in a row. :o( That sucks. But I have no time! Boohoo! Time for the Sunday Brunch, from 2/20 (!), and then a shower!

"Turn them on, turn them on, turn on those sad songs. When all hope is
gone, why don't you tune in and turn them on?" -Elton John

1) Do you have a song with your significant other and what is it? I have no significant other but I do have songs with friends and family members. Mom and me have "You are my sunshine". Jaci and me have David Ball's "Private Malone". Dad and I have Garth Brooks' "If Tomorrow Never Comes" and I think "My Girl". Samantha and I kinda have "Animal Crackers" by Shirley Temple (Animal crackers in my soup, monkeys and rabbits loop the loop. Gosh, oh, gee, how I have fun, swallowing animals one by one.) but that's not a strict thing.
2) Name three songs that were special to you with former significant others. Do you still think of that person when you hear it? I thought of Tom when I heard Rascall Flatt's "God Bless the Broken Road" and unfortunatly, I do think of him sometimes when I hear it. But mostly I just love the song. No real significant others though.
3) What is your favorite song of the moment? This moment, I'm loving Come What May by Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor from Moulin Rouge.
4) Do you associate songs with time periods? Give an example. Ummmm.... kinda. The songs "Daddy's Hands" and "Grandpa, Tell me bout the Good Old Days" remind me of when I was in third or fourth. I can't really explain it. Some songs I'll hear and immediatly it triggers a memory even if I can't remember it. I mean, I'll know it's tied to something I just can't pinpoint what.
5) If you were to give your job a theme song, what song would it be and why? "No more pencils, no more books, no more teachers, dirty looks. When the teacher rings the bell, drop your books and run like h*ll." because I want to get out of school! Or "Take this job and shove it" for the same reason. Or "The Friday Song" because it means school is out for 2 glorious days!

That's it! Time to take that darned shower!

20. Are you upset that the NHL hockey season was cancelled?
They could cancel every single sports season and I wouldn't really give a crap. Except on Sunday afternoons in the Fall. I'm so used to hearing football even though I don't know what's happening!

I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date

I fully realize that another edition of the Saturday Six is going to be posted again tomorrow but I still want to do this edition. So, here it is, baby.

1. Other than Earth, what planet intrigues you the most and why? Venus because the Roman goddess of love is named after it and I want to find out why. Is it a romantic planet?

2. What is the last business issue you wrote a letter or called to complain about?  What's the last thing you complemented a business on? I don't know. I don't think I have ever.

3. When was the last time you had your picture taken?  Did you like the way the picture turned out? Professionally? A couple months ago. I liked it before it was printed. It wound up green-ish but other than that, it's a good photo. Not professionally? I don't know. The only time my picture turns out good and it's not professional is when it's someone like Lindz (as in a great friend).

4. What was the last program you watched a rerun of on television? Sex And the City last night on HBO on demand about five different times

5. READER'S CHOICE QUESTION #47 from
Carly:  The land has been referred to, by more than one person, as a community or a neighborhood. What would you call the metaphorical name of the street you reside on here in the land and who are your closest neighbors? I'm so confused about this question! What does it mean? If someone can explain it, I'll answer it.

6. READER'S CHOICE QUESTION #48 from
Braxton:  If you had to write an essay that pertained to 'human life', what opinion or topic about mankind would you choose to write about? (exp. relationships, struggles, accomplishments, etc) And briefly explain why you chose said topic... Ummmm.... I'd elect to not write the essay. I can't write about human life without getting very emotional, etc.

That's all for the moment. Tons to follow.

Twenty Questions

1. Is there one thing in your personal life people always ask you about?  What's happening with my parents

2. If you had to write your autobiography what would you title it?  What is Normal?

3. You see someone you went to school with, and they remember you but you have no idea who they are,do you fess up or do you pretend you know them? Well, I'm changing this question a bit. "If you see a family member who remembers you but you have no idea who they are, do you fess up or do you pretend you know them?" It depends. Typically, I fess up but ocassionally, when I see someone who I know that I know but cannot remember their name, I'll fake it.

4. What is your definition of a friend? A friend is there through good and bad. They support you and help you get through life better than you would have without them.

5. What's your favorite fruit? Strawberries, cantaloupe, and honeydew melon

6. Is there anything you've failed at that you'd like to try again? I don't think so.

7. If you could only listen to one musician for the rest of your life who would you pick? I can't pick. The musician I like changes based on my mood. I couldn't just pick one.

8. Describe your earliest childhood memory. I don't know what is earlier than what. I remember starting preschool, being told "where babies come from" (I was just a couple months past three. The conversation spurred because Mom was preganant with the demon child.), dancing in the garage, walking Dallas. I just don't know what happened first.

9. Pick your favorite Disney movie out of the three listed:

A.) Beauty and the Beast

B.) Cinderella because of the rags to riches, true love, romantic life :)

C.) Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

10. Have you ever been injured while dealing with an animal? I've been bit, scratched, frenched, scurried over, and clawed by dogs, cats, and iguanas.

11. What's one sound you never get tired of hearing? Rain pounding on the roof tops *sigh*

12. Is there one TV show you never miss? Not lately. Used to be that I never missed General Hospital but that's kinda fell by the wayside. I'll have to tune in tomorrow.

13. Yellow or chocolate cake? Do I really have to answer this? We all know that I love chocolate!  (Question for all technical peoples: why isn't that blinking? It is a blinkie!)

14. What's one place you wouldn't want to be stranded? One place? The same continent with my father and/or brother

15. Do you have a favorite pair of shoes? My hooker boots! They're ankle-high, velvet boots with about an inch of a heel. I love 'em! My friends think that I look like a hooker in 'em. (Note to self: take picture of feet in boots and include.)

17. List three things that annoy you about other people.

i) This is mostly my fault but when they do stuff like put their arm around me and don't pick up on the hints that I don't want it there.... I should give obvious hints or should just tell them

ii) When they say "I'm fat" and weigh about 87 pounds! Or other forms of putting themselves down

iii) Close-minded people

18. What's the first thing you read about in the newspaper? Only read the comics

19. Do you have trouble apologizing? Depends on the circumstances

20. Do you believe in ghosts? Yes but I'm not quite sure where it fits with my Christian beliefs. If we all die and go to Heaven or Hell, what are the ghosts doing there? Why aren't they in Heaven or Hell? I don't believe in Limbo or Purgatory so it's not like ghosts are in either place.

I have a billion entries to type up and a billion things to do and zero time in which to do them! Must go catch up more on Journal Alerts!

Quickie update! @~>

Apparently alerts are now working (yay!) so I felt I must update to let ya know that while they were down, I posted a couple things. Not many but, they're below. Enjoy! Hahaha! Now, onto things like, oh, I don't know, math projects and waiting for Lindsay to get here to sleepover. Yes, it is Thursday. Yes, there is school tomorrow. Yes, my dad rocks at the moment.

Oh, and FYI: I've practiced BOTH of my solos tonight. Both "Take Me to the World" for Voice class and "On My Own" (from Les Mis) for Mom. I love them both but am infatuated with the latter at the moment. I've only sung it a few times (all tonight) but I'm already doing pretty good on it. I've gotta teach it to myself by Mother's Day.

And- and- and- guess what?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! THREE SLEEPS!

Vickey

Now, onto the Sunday Brunch, which I, of course, managed to miss due to lack of alert.

Photo Scavenger Hunt #14

This week's Photo Scavenger Hunt (#14) should be completed by Saturday, February 12, at 8 PM EST.

This weeks theme will be:  GLASS.

First picture (above) is from www.cmog.org. The second (below) is the two glasses that my parents got on their honeymoon or something. It's amazing that they have survived so long and that neither of my parents broke one or both of them.

It's late but it's here. hehe ^_^ Off to unpack and repack for Lindsay's! Yay!

Saturday Six

Allow me to say that I just got out of bed. I slept for thirteen freaking hours. I'm gonna be a pain on Monday.

1. What one song or melody can make you smile even when you're having a rotten day? Oh, good question. That song by Alan Jackson about the auction is a guaranteed smile if I try to sing along.

2. What are your plans for the day?  How much of it do you think you'll actually accomplish? To do my homework. All of it. Okay, well, most of it. And to shower and eat something. I'll probably get some of my homework done and I will shower and eat something.

3. What television show do you most enjoy watching when you're all alone and can devote your complete attention to it? Is the emphasis on "alone" or is it on the watching? Hmmm food for thought. When alone, I most enjoy watching Law & Order SVU or "Comedy Central Presents..." which is stand-up comedy.

4. What was the last thing you remember arguing with someone about? What was that argument about.... Something stupid. With my dad. Last night.

5. READER'S CHOICE QUESTION #45 from
Bud:  Inspired by this article on cell phone technology, he asks, "What is your most aggravating public experience with a cell-phone user?" Nothing really. Just annoys me when people ignore the world around them while on their cell.

6. READER'S CHOICE QUESTION #46 from
Stacy:  Did you watch the Super Bowl and if you did, do you like the commercials, the half-time show OR the ceremony following the game the best? I did watch the first 3/4 of the game. When I dragged my sick butt upstairs to bed, the score was 24-14 in favor of the Patriots. I liked the commercials the best. Never made it to the ceremony afterwards, lucky I watched at all. Sir Paul McCartney isn't exactly one of my favorites, thank you very much. (But at least he didn't expose himself.)

That was the Saturday Six. I'm off to get started on those plans. I'll start by brushing my teeth and eating something.

Reflection

My friend once told me, "Ya know, it's okay for you to enjoy this. And you can tell me." She was talking about the hand massage she was giving me that felt wonderful. But I, for some reason, couldn't appreciate it. I couldn't tell her how amazing it felt and I couldn't relax and enjoy it. I think I need to take that advice and apply it to life. It's hard for me to relax and enjoy life. When I do take time out and relax and enjoy things, I don't appreciate it. I don't express my graditude. If I do get treated to something, like a manicure, I can't relax and enjoy it. I can't say how good it feels. This isn't meant to sound wrong in any way, shape, or form. It's just meant to be. I need to relax and enjoy life and I need to say when I do. I need to treat myself. Give myself a pedicure instead of just painting my toenails. I need to go get my nails done or recruit a friend and then treat her as well. Maybe this is just the ramblings of a teenage girl but it's the thoughts inside my head at the moment. Valentine's Day for me is not going to be about expressing my love for my boyfriend, since I have none. It's going to be about loving myself and being good to me. That is my Valentine's Day. Enjoy your day, however you spend it. And go treat yourself. Go get a banana split. With all the trimmings. Treat yourself and don't feel bad about it.

Vickey

Weekend Assignment

I'm back, baby! And so is the weekend assignment!

Weekend Assignment #47: Reveal Your Teenage Celebrity Crush! Oh, come on. We all had one. Share yours, and tell us why that particularly celebrity tripped your teenage trigger.

Extra Credit: Tell us: Do you still have a little teeny bit of a crush on that celebrity? Yes? No? Maybe so?

Well, I AM teenage so I'll pick my first TV crush. Tommy Dawkins aka Brandon Quinn. Brandon as normal average joe Tommy....

With wolf eyes.....

And as the wolf....

Why did he "tip my childhood trigger"? Because he's hot. Easy as pie. He. Is. Hot. Just look at those pictures. And yes. He still gets me hot under the collar. He's still hot. I just haven't seen the show in forever. Time to pack.

Vickey

SuperBowl Sunday!

I didn't write anything up this weekend as I was too sick. I already know that I'm staying home tomorrow. Which is good since I didn't do any of my homework. But I can't talk so I'd be useless in school. Anyhow.... the superbowl is on. My cousin is over and is annoying me. When I'm sick, I'm irritable and cranky. And you don't mess with me unless ya want ur head bitten off. Ugh! But what I came here to write was this.....

A lock-in here is a group of people getting together at a location (in this case, a church) and you sleep there until morning. Well, normally there's not much sleeping. You stay up until all hours of the night. My church is throwing one on my birthday (not because of my birthday but still a great coincidence) and a ton of people from my school have been invited by Lindz and I. When I was little, I was supposed to go to one at a bowling alley with my girl scout troop. It started at eleven and I couldn't stay up that long so Mom was going to set the alarm and wake me up at about ten thirty so we could go. She slept through the alarm or something and I never got to go. Oh, well.

I don't know how expensive colored contacts are but at the moment, I wear normal clear contacts. I lost one today. Haha. No big deal as it probably would have fallen out anyhow. My eyes water when I get really sick and they've been watering all day. Dad's going to pick up my comfort foods tomorrow morning. Yay!

Ginger ale and saltines,
Vickey

P.S. That's my way of saying I hope you feel good since ginger ale and saltines are my comfort food. Love to y'all!

Saturday Six (on Sunday)

1. What is your favorite restaurant to visit for breakfast and what do you order? I don't typically do breakfast out. Heck, I don't typically do breakfast. But when I do go out for breakfast, I enjoy MaryEllen's. It's this little diner in my old hometown. I order french toast and bacon with a glass of chocolate milk. They put powdered sugar on their french toast. Yummy.

2. Do you have any unique ability like those who appear on David Letterman's "Stupid Human Tricks?"  If so, how did you learn you had this talent? Ummm... I can put my feet to the top of my head and I think I can wiggle my ears. The feet thing I've known since I was in second grade and my ears I just figured out about two weeks ago.

3. There are plenty of sites on the internet for pen pals; some of them are specifically designed for communicating with people in prison.  Have you ever or would you begin corresponding with a stranger who was in prison? I haven't done it and I probably wouldn't just because I'd be paranoid that s/he would track me down.

4. Name two questions you have always wanted to ask a pair of identical twins. I've never "always wanted to ask a pair of identical twins" anything. I could come up with something though.

5. If you looked back at your high school yearbook photos, what is more embarrassing?  Your hair, your clothes, your glasses, or your complexion? Well, I'm going to answer this about my middle school yearbook photos since the only high school photo I have is from this year and the yearbook isn't out yet. I'm most embarassed about my clothes. My parents always made me wear something awful that I'd never have picked out by myself.

6. If you had to change the color of one of the following, which would you change and why:  the walls in your living room, your car, or your eyes. The living room walls! It's this awful beige that came with the place. The car is green and kinda ugly but liveable. I've come to accept my eyes the way they are (though I may get green contacts... or blue).

That's the Saturday Six. Only one day late.

Vickey

Sixteen sleeps and counting......

Last entry until Sunday or Monday. :~( I guess my photo scavenger hunt is gonna be late (if I do it....) I hope your weekends are great. And the lock-in is coming along! Yay for Murph for driving himself (and possibly Jake)! Yay! Just yay! Unfortunatly, I'm getting sick. So is my brother. Luckily, my baby sister is already sick so I can't give her my cold. Time to go up to my room since my father is pi$$ing me off. This is what I'm trying to escape. Fighting. Nagging. Argh! Much love to all! Enjoy your weekends! :~)

Seventeen sleeps!

Today is great so far. But my radio station trashed my hometown. They were saying that all the garduates of Marion High get incarserated and only three have gone on to higher education. Excuse me, but I attented Marion Elementary from K-4 and part of fifth. Granted, it's not exactly a hotbed of genius but they are pretty smart. When I was in K, there was this one senior who rode my bus (K-1 and the high school got out at the same time). She was pregnant that year. She still lives in Marion with four kids and no diploma last I knew.

Love always,
Vickey

Old entry (as is the one below it, btw)

Today. Today I'm depressed. I can't go to youth group tonight and while that phone call to Tom gave me way too much energy, the though of not seeing him has me way too depressed. Not only him but the whole atmosphere. I live for that. Some weeks, it's what gets me through. It rejuvenates my spirit, my mind. An hour with my friends. Talking about God and Jesus and aspects of our lives. It's just a routine, a mental replenishing. One that I really need. Sunday. I'll go Sunday night. Maybe I'll even check out that church by Mom's house Sunday morning. Or maybe I'll get her to take me to a different one. Or I could have my own "church" by reading my Bible upstairs on Sunday morning. I don't know. I can figure that out later.

This morning, I missed the bus. Got ready and Gramma (henceforth known as BG) drove me to school. She started talking about how I should control my emotions and how my mother isn't a good example and if I won't listen to her, I should listen to the Bible. *barf* As she's talking to me about all that, ya know what I thought of.... POP-TARTS! Pop-tarts *small smile* and chocolate *smile grows* and giggles with Lindz *teeth now showing* and towels hot from the dryer *even as I write this I'm smiling* I decided I should stop before I laughed because BG would get ticked. Ha. So outta the car and through Crack Alley, some girl said she liked my shirt and pants. *smile* She had no idea how much I needed that. I got into school and to my locker and *damn* the bell rings. So I go to attendance and get into a fight with the lady. She hates me. I didn't have a note b/c my parent wasn't home and they don't accept them from Lindz's mom when I'm there for the night so why should they accept one from BG? "Parent or guardian." But she's not my guardian. "She's a blood relative." Well so is my brother.

Vickey

Reporting from TRSH

So it's time to fill you all in. Child Services was here because Mom called them. She wanted to report Dad for a) our fight and b) leaving Joey in my care. As for our fight, it got way out of hand. I was scared that he would hit me. Not the right way to live. I hate watching my brother. Hate it. I have told Dad that and he tels me to "quit complaining and deal with it. It's not like you have so much added responsibility. All you do is sit on your butt on the computer all afternoon." Can you say jerk? Joey and I have gotten into fistights before. On what used to be a regular basis.

Oh! Did I mention Dad's comment about my coping skills? Ha! He said I need to develop better coping skills. Ha! I told him that with all the crap I have to deal with, I'm lucky I haven't been commited to a mental institution. He just tried not to laugh and told me that maybe I should talk to him. As I told the guy from child services, I'm not talking to him.

Weekend Assignment #46

Weekend Assignment time! Going to be gone from tomorrow around 8 until Sunday. So... must get this and the photo scavenger hunt done either tonight or tomorrow afternoon. Here is this..........

Weekend Assignment #46: Make one new rule to apply to the Super Bowl. This new rule can apply to any aspect of the Super Bowl, from the game to the spectators, to the halftime show, to the commercials. If it's got something to do with the Super Bowl, you can make up a rule about it.

Extra Credit: Your pick for winner of the Super Bowl. Naturally, don't bother doing the extra credit if it's Sunday evening.

Okay, I don't know the rules of football AT ALL and don't feel like being serious with this one. Funny rules that are now part of the Super Bowl. Yes, rules as in more than one. Deal with it, sugar!

1. No more lame half-time shows. Heck, the halftime shows get (as Lewis Black says) exponentially worse year after year. We may as well abolish them. Definitly no more boobs. Sorry Janet. We don't need a repeat.

2. All members of the winning team must prepare a short song about how great the other team did. It must be sportsman-like and cannot be mocking. It has to be sincere or else the player the sang about (as they will all be assigned a specific player) will get there SuperBowl ring. And the honor that comes with it. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it!

3. Players of the team the specators are not supporting must be treated with as much respect as the players of the team they are rooting for. If ya can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. No boo-ing, hissing, or other disrespectful conduct.

4. No more guys with no shirts and body paint. Eww. Enough said.

5. No more SuperBowl proposals. Cheesy. As are New Year's Eve proposals.

6. Heated seats. I'm sure the spectators would appreciate this. The players too.

7. Good concession stand food. Not the stuff they serve at most places now.

Hmmm... this is sounding dangerously like an election speech... full of empty promises. *cough* Bush *cough* (Sorry, still kinda bitter over the election.)

Now for the extra credit: I don't know anything about stats or who's playing how but I want the Patriots. A) My brother is an Eagles fan. B) They won last year (right?). C) I'm a semi-fan. D) If it ain't my Redskins, it can be my Patriots. lol

That's it for tonight. Will go work on the pictures. Love to all!

Love always,
Vickey

Sunday Brunch (early, not late)

Posted early because the writer is going on a trip. I'm doing it early because a) I don't want to leave it in my inbox to fill it and b) I'll be at Mom's this weekend and c) it's a great topic.

"There is no need to go to India or anywhere else to find peace. You
will find that deep place of silence right in your room, your garden or
even your bathtub." -Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

1) Do you take baths or showers? Showers on most days, baths to relax
2) Do you like the water super hot or just tepid? Not hot enough to burn but hot enough so that I have to get in to a bath very slowly (and a shower gets turned hotter as I get used to it)
3) Do you use bath gel, bath crystals, bubble bath, or other scented
stuff? In a bath? Yes. Bubble bath, crystals, and/or fizzies.
4) What do you like to do when you take a bath? There are a lot of sick people out there that could answer this really weird. I'm not one of them. I either just soak or read or listen to the radio. Or all of the above.
5) What is your one item essential to a great bath? Candles. Must have my candles. Lots of them to illuminate the bathroom. I don't use artifical light when I soak. A clean tub is another must have.

So there is my bathtime Sunday Brunch. Onto other things.....

Love always,
Vickey

Eighteen more sleeps!

I feel special right now. Very special. Sara sent me an e-card and I love it. My birthday is on the twentieth. I can not wait. It's gonna be great. I cannot wait. With Mom that day until whenever. I'll be with her when I turn 15 (at 4:27pm) then I have the lock-in that night. It's gonna be great. Okay, so onto my other prewritten entries.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So will moving change who I am? I'd like to think not. There's not really much I want to do that I can't do here. It's just that I want to have that choice. Dad's trying to take away my choices, my freedoms. I just don't want to fight with him anymore. I don't want to fight with anyone. I think the only way to accomplish that is to move out for a while. Maybe by senior year, I can move back to graduate with my friends. I'll be the same person there, won't I? I'll still be strong in my faith, still be the same poetic, romantic Pisces. I'll still be confident (well, as much as I am now). I'll still be me. I'll just have a new home, new room, less fighting, less tension, less friends. It's so hard to keep in touch with all your friends when you move. I know I'll probably lose some frienships (since I've basically lost all my friends from my old town) but those I do keep in contact with will be my dearest friends. I mean, who knows how long I'll be living there? If Dad and I get along great when I'm there and we have a good relationship however long from now, I might move back. Hell, for all I know, a summer away might do the trick. But I can't deal with everyday fighting for the next five months. Five months is twenty weeks which is 3360 hours. I'll spend about 1286 hours and forty minutes of that at Dad's house awake. That's a lot of time to wait for a summer retreat.
Love always,
Vickey
