Lyrics that apply

I've just been warned by Nelson (Nelson of all people) to be careful because Tom is a "hard core Christain". No, really? I didn't know. ::sarcasm:: I know his beliefs. I know that. But I think he's my next northern star. Have you heard the song "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts? AOL has it here. Here are the lyrics:

Lyrics:
I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you

Chorus:
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

Chorus:
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

Now I’m just rollin’ home into my lover's arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you

I think he's my next northern star. My first was Nicholas Silco (back in second grade, he was my first crush). My first serious one was Jon. These lyrics have been stuck in my head as well:

My little third grade hand wrote I love you
On a note of yellow paper
And sent it to the front of the row to a little blonde-haired girl
The blonde-haired girl just opened it and read it to herself
I was so embarrassed when she turned around and said

I'm already taken
You spoke up too late
I love somebody else
So you'll just have to wait

The years flew by so quickly
And there we were in junior high
I realized that I still loved her so
So I called her up and told her exactly how I felt
Then she said there's something that you really ought to know

I'm already taken
You spokeup too late
I love somebody else
So you'll just have to wait

So wait I did and never changed my love for that little blonde-haired girl
Who's now the mother of our little blonde-haired boy
Who's to our hearts so close
I hate to think how fast he's growing up
Last night I overheard them as she tucked him into bed
He said, Mommy will you marry me
And this is what she said

I'm already taken
You spoke up too late
I love your daddy son
So you'll just have to wait

I'm already taken
You spoke up too late
I love your daddy son
So you'll just have to wait

As I walked the halls, I was thinking, "If he asked me out, I'd turn him down for Tom." Every guy I asked myself if I'd turn him down for Tom, I said yes. So basically, when Peter hugged me in the lobby after school, I started singing the chorus, "I'm already taken." as I walked to the bus. For the moment, I may not love him but, I'm taken by the potential. It's nearly eight here so I've gotta go. Need to do some homework and stuffs.

Love always,
Vickey

I love that Stacie Orrico song!  I haven't heard that song by Rascal Flatts before, but I REALLY like it.  I know the one I'm Already Taken, I love that song....it's played in my head for certain *cough*buttduck*cough* someone.
Be true to your heart doll, don't settle for less.
